It's Now or Never...

Picture
The photographer from Cashman, Evy, came to take some pics.  She was really nice.  My sister helped the coordinators line everyone up.  I hear the prelude songs I picked out playing, I asked my sis-in-law if my fiance is already lined up and guess what?  It was 11 am and he wasn't even there yet.  After the first prelude song, he finally came in.

His side of the story:  They were running late because of his sister.  When they got to the wedding salon, the door was closed so he knocked.  The receptionist told him there was a private event going on and he explained that he was the groom :-)  So they let him and his family in, they fell in line while the coordinators put on his buttoneire and microphone.

So back to me, my processional song "Butterfly Waltz" by Brian Crain started playing.  I stayed inside the bride's room since they hadn't come for me yet.  After a while, I peeked and saw that it was only my parents left, so I lined up and waited for my bridal entrance.  I picked "Latika's Theme" from the Slumdog Millionaire soundtrack and started walking after letting the song play for a minute.

The sight of the garden with the orange/yellow petals on the aisle, my bridesmaid and groomsmen in blue, and my groom in orange tie - I smiled cuz the colors worked out perfectly.  The orange/yellow petals matched my flower girls' dresses and I was glad I changed to a yellow-gold bouquet instead of orange.

When my parents presented me to my groom, I messed up.  I should have kissed my parents but I forgot!  Anyway, for the ceremony, we started out with prayer, then scripture reading from Psalm 100, then message from Rev. Henney, exchange of coins, laying of the veil and cord, vows and exchange of rings, unity sand ceremony, then final prayer and presentation of the couple.

There was one point in the exchange of rings when Rev. Henney told me to say "Michael, with this ring..."  I paused for a bit because Michael was my brother-in-law!  I started laughing and everyone laughed too, then I proceeded to say "Emmanuel, with this ring..."  It's now one of those memorable wedding bloopers that I was almost married off to my brother-in-law.

For each part of the ceremony - the exchange of coins, laying of veil, etc.  I had someone from the bridal party come up to explain the significance of it while the sponsors were doing the actions.  For the unity sand ceremony, I picked orange and blue sand and had them play "Portuguese Love Theme" from Love Actually Soundtrack.  Our recessional was "60B" from the Elizabethtown Soundtrack.

Afterwards, Evy, the Cashman photographer, took formal family pictures and a couple of pictures of us around Primrose Courtyard.  I was really relieved that the biggest part was over.  Wynn did a really great job.  I felt bad that I didn't give a decent tip.  I was struggling with how much to give since there was the two coordinators and the officiant and we already paid so much for the ceremony.
