October 14, 2009 - Arrived in Vegas

Picture
We left Chicago at noon and arrived in Vegas around 4 pm.  First thing we did was drop off my wedding gown and his suit at Debi's Fit for a Bride.  I was able to squish my gown and slip into my carry-on luggage so you can imagine how wrinkled it was.  Then we were off to get my eyebrows done.  I went to Eyebrows R' Us at their Flamingo location, they did a great job.  I paid $15 for eyebrows and upper lip threading and I gave the lady a $5 tip.

We had an appointment at Wynn at 7 pm for the limo to take us to get the marriage license.  At the marriage license place, there was only two other couples there, one of them was already in their wedding attire.  We chatted with the marriage license lady for a bit, she was from Michigan and goes to Chicago every now and then.  We paid $60 for the marriage license.  We gave the limo driver $10 tip (it was too much but we didn't have smaller bills).

After getting the marriage license, we went to see KA at MGM.  I loved it.  Our seats were too close and too much on the side to really get the full experience, but that's what you get when you pay for the cheaper seats.  We bought the tickets using a link from Smarter Vegas, I think we paid about $70 each.  I really liked the scenes when the stage was vertical.  I also liked the scenes with the Twin Sister and the Fireflie Boy.

So, after KA, we were finally able to go to Treasure Island, where we were staying before the wedding.  We had a beautiful view of Wynn and Encore.  The room is the same as what you would get at a Holiday Inn, Hampton Inn.  I was disappointed with their Business Office since you have to pay just to use the computers.  We didn't bring our laptop since we had so much stuff to carry there was no room for it.  We relied on my husband's iPhone for internet access.
