Lunch Reception at Maggiano's

After the ceremony, we were able to take pictures outside of Wynn with our other photographer, Audrey.  We took family group pictures by the waterfalls outside of the Wynn Esplanade.  We got to Maggiano's a little early so my mom and sis-in-law bustled me up while we were waiting outside.  The rest of the family were at the Maggiano's bar getting drinks.  At 1 pm, we all went up together.  I forgot to ask our photographer to go ahead of us so she can take pictures of the decorations before all the guests came.  But for our set up, we had six tables and a sweetheart table.  I used Las Vegas license plates I found on Gambler's General Store as the table numbers and centerpieces.  I used Las Vegas Welcome sign place cards, Peter Lik's Las Vegas photo book for our guestbook, and yellow Las Vegas mugs as the favors.

Our lunch reception was from 1 pm to 4 pm.  We started our grand entrance at 1:15.  We used "He's a Pirate" for the parents and bridal party and "Thunderstruck" for our own entrance.  After prayer, they served the appetizers.  During the lunch, we raffled off the license plates.  We did cake cutting and toasts around 2:45.  We used "When You Say Nothing At All" for the cake cutting.  Towards the end, we did a group picture with all the guests.  Our last dance song was "Save the Last Dance for Me."

We had a ton of food.  Everyone was full from the appetizers alone.  Looking back, I should have only ordered a one tier wedding cake for the cake cutting cuz most of our guests were already full from the Maggiano's desserts that they didn't eat wedding cake.  The lunch service took up two hours so we were able to spend the last hour for dancing.

Maggiano's service was great.  Maggiano's did a great job setting up the decorations/favors/place cards for me.  The bartender did a great job checking if anyone needed refills.  Everyone thought it was great that he was pro-active in asking people if they need refills instead of just waiting for people to come up.  For the drinks, we had an open bar.  The bar bill came up to about $500 for 45 people.

We used All Night Long DJ.  I don't remember our DJ's name, but she did a good job too.  I didn't get to give a 20% tip because we paid $500 and I thought giving $100 tip is excessive.  We only gave her $40.  But she did a good job as our emcee and also took requests since our group tended to dance more when the line dancing songs were on.  My husband requested Miley Cyrus' song "The Climb" but they didn't have it in their song list.

Our guests were happy that our reception was during lunch since they had the rest of the night to have fun in Vegas.  Some of my friends were able to catch a Cirque Du Soleil show after the reception, the rest of the family went to different casinos to gamble.
